Due to the influx of spammers, I have decided to change the user registration process.

All registrations now require an admin to activate the account. The accounts will not be able to be activated, even by valid email address method.

I appologise for this, but it is another level of stopping the spam levels.

IF

you have a friend that wishes to join, please encourage them to do so, however, if you could give me a heads up, either by PM or posting in the forum, I will make sure they are activated ASAP. I may then even be able to drop the post count anti spam method.


Therefore, the system is going over to the honor system. I trust all members currently registered, therefore, if you recomend someone, they inherit your trust, and will be "allowed in" as soon as possible.


I will leave this system in place, but review it periodically. If you feel there is a problem with this, please let me know.


ALSO, if someone you know whishes to join, would you ask that, if at all possible, they use a "proper" email provider, rather than the free ones (that are used by spammers). If this is not possible, no worries, it just makes it easier to be able to ignore gmail accounts etc lol. I understand that the free ones are getting to be used far more often than some of the accounts that are provided by ISP's. Especially as it now seems that even +++SUPER NAUGHTY+++ Media are ditching thier email system, and having their users migrate to google email services!


I hope that this doesn't stop the enjoyment of this site, and forum, and that is doesn't make us seem offish, especially to any friends you may invite over. I also hope this will limit the amount of work I have to do, by constantly deleting, or editing user accounts. It has been noticed that some (spammers) are now not trying to post, but have dodgy links in their profiles......(And thanks to Red for notifying me of these!). This should stop all of this too.

Further to the last update, I have decided to step up even further the fight against spammers....

I have disabled all user registrations.

If you know anyone wishing to join, let me know, I will re enable the registration process.

This should be a temporary messure, I am sure that news will spread that registration is closed.

I have done this as there can be upto 20 spammers trying to register every day now.
